This bug is fixed by version 1.3.3 of the Unofficial Skyrim Patch. It will also not display properly in any display case in which you must place the item manually (as opposed to activating the display case), as once the item is placed eventually it will "leap" out and onto the floor. The Bloodskal Blade does not display properly in many weapon racks, as re-entering the cell may cause the blade to fall to the ground. The energy wave does not result in any experience for the Two-Handed skill. At less than level 50, it will do 30 additional points of damage, and at greater than level 50 it will do 50 additional points of damage. There is a script that gives bonus damage against Zahkriisos to the energy blade effect dependent on level. Myrwatch's gallery CC contains a special holder for this item. 
When in Ethereal form, attacking with the Bloodskal Blade but not actually making contact with the enemy will still release the energy that does 30 points of damage, without ending the effects of the shout. The Final Descent: Find out what happened to the great-grandfather of Crescius Caerellius. fortifiy restoration alchemy potions increases the effect of enchants (Just take a potion, reequip the blade, and as long as you never unequip it the boost will stay). Or they could add gear that increased the enchants damage. I understand putting it on 1h swords maybe a bit broken, faster swings and all, but they could make it a 2h only enchant for balance. If we could disenchajt it, the enchant could be placed on another weaponand improved. This makes the bloodskalblade a good hitting sword with a useless lightshow of an enchant, thus useless. You cannot increase the enchants damage, the long range damage. The long range atk is only, and forever will be 30. 
The point of the bloodskal blade is its enchant which only does 30. The blade maybe at 100, 200, or 300 damage and as a greatswotd thats good. To those who continue to refer to smithing it.
